I ordered XL (my size is a full 48), but due to the material it's not very good; it rolls up from the bottom. I'm attaching a photo of my daughter wearing size S, she's 12 years old, and it's almost perfect for her; it's slightly too big, as you can see under her arms.
For my 12-year-old daughter (wears size S), it fit well, but the material is synthetic. Yes, it's suitable for training clothes. I also bought an XL in a different color for myself because the material tends to roll up when you move, but it's fine for my daughter. (At least for now, she liked it when we tried it on).
